Austin's WDW mega-update (Animal Kingdom)!
Our reader Austin Ray has given us the opportunity of show you some of the many pictures he took while on his trip. So, here's Austin Ray's mega-update of Walt Disney World!!!
Here you are his impressions:
Here you are his impressions:
- Over in the All-Star Sports the football field between the touchdown buildings looks to be getting a pressure wash treatment and replacement. And then the parking lot for Surfs Up is getting a new coat and stripe. Both of these are much needed projects.
- Wilderness Lodge had a large work wall around most of the exterior and scaffolding up along one wall with workers on it painting I believe.
Now for the parks.
- In Animal Kingdom the Yeti I believe is covered up but the strobe light was on. I couldn't tell because I didn't want to lose my glasses so right before the drop I took them off but I could tell the strobe was on.
- Epcot: The scrim on the new Italian restaurant was down. I can't remember the name of it [Via Napoli]. And I could see some of the exterior details on Hacienda de San Angel.
Also noticed a sign that said: "Caution, wet paint" near Test Track's exit but no pictures.
- Magic Kingdom: On the 12th the walls on the right side of the expo hall were still up and then the 16th they were down. Didn't think to go in it since I wanted to get back to the resort and relax before coming back for dinner.
A planter was boxed in with some walls near the Tomorrowland Terrace which is probably for painting.
I was planning on riding Dumbo so that I could use my camcorder to video tape over the wall but the line was 40 minutes and I didnt have the time, but I did get a shot off of the Barnstormer. It looks like dirt, and possibly foundations.
Over in Tom Sawyer Island a wall with a tarp was up covering up something by the windmill.
Next up, the WDW RR [Walt Disney World Railroad] is getting some work done it appears. between the Frontierland station and Toontown there was a stack of new railroad ties waiting to be placed, and a rusted out old rail laying next to the tracks.
Also noticed the canoes were covered up in a creek that flows into Rivers of America that you can only see off the train.
