New trains for Gwazi?
Screamscape reports that some changes are coming to the existing coasters.
I'm talking about Gwazi, the double wooden coaster, that is know for being rough (like most of wooden coasters). Here's the news from Screamscape:
"A few months back you might recall that Busch Gardens Tampa was testing a borrowed GCI Millennium Flyer train on one side of Gwazi. If the latest rumor is true, it must have impressed them (how could it not?) and the park is now rumored to have put in orders for all new trains to replace the current PTC trains. Don’t look for these to go online until at least the end of the year or next spring."
Do you think that these new trains will improve the roughness of the ride?
Personally, I think that new trains for a coaster are always welcome, because they usually improve the ride.
I believe it will be a welcome addition. Granted wooden coasters are supposed to be a bit more shaky than the steel coasters, but Gwazi is a bit over the top in that department. I remember riding Lightning Racer at Hersheypark which has the Millennium Flyer trains and I couldn't believe how smooth the ride felt for being a wooden coaster. I that is what Gwazi will be like with the new trains, then I can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteMillenium Flyers will improve Gwazi but, Flyers are outdated. If they wanted to fix the problems with the ride they should have turned to Gravity Groups Timberliners.
ReplyDeleteAlso, just because a coaster gets a new train (wooden coasters in general) doesnt mean it improves the ride. PTC trains should be banned from ever operating on new wooden coasters as they will tear that coaster apart and ruin the ride.
