A Disney Record!

On June 3rd, more than 450 people participated in the LARGEST simultaneous swimming lesson ever conducted, that is now a Guinness World record!!

All of this took place in Typhoon Lagoon, one of Disney's signature water parks.

According to Disney, "the event was presented by a coalition of the world's leading water safety and training
organizations, including the World Waterpark Association. Nearly 200 aquatic facilities across the nation, as
well as locations in far-reaching locales like Zambia, Lebanon, Dubai and South Korea were expected to
participate."

From Disney:

"During the 30-minute lesson, guests were taught basic water skills such as how to bob and float and breath control. Basic water safety tips and reminders also were a part of the instruction. The lesson was followed by give-a-ways to participants that included, among other items, a Disney's Wild About Safety video sponsored by Underwriters Laboratories, Timon and Pumbaa Safety Smart in the Water! The video can be viewed at www.safetysmartdvd.com. The DVD is also available for check-out at the Disney Learning Centers."

"It's an honor for Typhoon Lagoon Water Park to host and be a part of the World's Largest Swimming Lesson," said Ron Hood, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Operations manager. "It's befitting also, since we are the world's most attended water park, that we were selected as the host site for a water safety effort of this size."

Well, once again, welcome to the GWR, Walt Disney World!!
