Disaster's refurb.... may we see something new?
Thanks to Orlando United, I discovered that "DiSaStEr: a major motion picture ride starring you" (that's a long name!) will be again in rehab from January 3rd, 2010 (tomorrow!) to the first days of April! that'll be a long rehab!!
The point is: Why? Indeed, Universal already changed this attraction (from "Earthquake, the big one" to "Disaster etc etc"...) in 2007, only 2 years ago! And it only took them a little bit more than 1 month!!! What are they going to do then in 3 (three) months?
Well, in my opinion they'll just make some subtle changes (because the ride is still very good).
For example, they may change the set just before the real ride (the subway scene), adding new special effects and new props..
They may also change the film (that I like!). Some say that they're going to change it because the current actor ( Dwayne Johnson ) is now known as a Disney actor, even if he did only a few films with them...
But these are only ideas... What do you think?

This is unfortunate! A few of my friends are heading down there on Tuesday, and I just told them how great this attraction is (especially with the added improvements). I'm wondering if they will be enhancing any of the subway train scene effects, although I do like how it is already.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they'll miss this attraction unfortunately. About the refurb, Universal didn't say anything, but as I said in my post, this will be very interesting (altought as you said too, the ride is really good)... We just have to wait!
