DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS!

• Disney's Hollywood Studios original name was "Disney-MGM Studios", and was changed in 2008 because the Disney company ended the agreement with the MGM studios company;

• Disney's Hollywood Studios opened May 1, 1989, and occupies 154 acres;

• Hollywood Studios is the park with the most street entertainers after EPCOT;

• Sorcerer Mickey's hat's ears (the park icon) sparkle with internal pixie dust lighting;

• Songs from famous films can be heard outside "The Great Movie Ride" attraction. So next time you go there, try to recognize them!;

• The carpet in The Great Movie Ride's queue was custom handmade for the attraction! In the queue you can also see actual dresses and object used in real films (like "Mary Poppins" or "Journey into Narnia");

• The Great movie Ride is themed  to Hollywood's 1920's trough 1940's time period. it opened May 1, 1989, lasts 20 minutes (making it one of the longest dark rides) and its ride vehicles can carry up to 70 guests;

• The "Beauty and the Beast: live on stage" show opened November 22, 1991, debuting at the same time as the film ("Beauty and the Beast" of course), making it the first stage show to open the same day as the movie that inspired it!;

• The Magic of Disney Animation opened August 25, 1989. "Mulan" (1998) and "Lilo and Stitch" (2002) have been entirely produced here!;

• Studios Backlot Tour's original name was "Disney-MGM studios Backlot Tour". The shuttles of the attraction can carry up to 200 guests, and the attraction (that opened May 1, 1989) is approximately 25 minutes long;

• "Indiana Jones' Epic Stunt spectacular" debuted on August 25, 1989. There are 17 stuntmen in the show (that is 35 minutes long) and the amphiteather seats 2,000 guests! It's ENORMOUS;

• Star Tours opened to the public on December 15, 1989. Each simulator seats 40 people;

• The Hollywood Tower Hotel is 199 feet high, making it higher than Cinderella castle, Spaceship Earth and the Tree of Life! It opened on July 22, 1994, but on December 31st, 2002 enhancements have been added to the attraction;

•  FANTASMIC! opened October 15, 1998. It is the BEST Disney show ever for many people. It uses 3 projection mist screens that spray 800 gallons of water per minute. The Dragon is 40 feet tall and has a 50-foot wingspan. The moat in the show holds 1.9 million gallons of water. The Steamboat in the show that carries all Disney characters weighs approximately 70,000 pounds and it's 80 feet tall. The Fantasmic! mountain towers 57.5 feet above the water.
