Disney's Yacht Club Resort Update: A Look Inside a Renovated Room
In our previous update focusing on Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, we pointed out that many of the rooms on the first floor of Disney's Yacht Club Resort are currently unavailable as they are being renovated. Last week we had the chance to check out one of the refurbished rooms (we were actually the very first Guests to enter the room since it closed), located near the new Market at Ale & Compass. As you will see in the following photos, the new rooms have a quite different look.
The first thing Guests see when entering is a small area with cups, a ridge, and more:
The closet features embedded LED lights. That's a neat detail:
A medium-sized safe can be found next to the closet:
A rather large door separates the bathroom area from the rest of the room:
Here Guests can the standard two sinks, towels, a large mirror, and a smaller mirror with embedded lights:
A sliding door separates the section of the bathroom containing the shower and toilet:
A brand-new toilet:
The shower looks very modern and has a slanted base:
Some more details:
The bedroom:
Guests can now put their luggage under the bed (if they so wish):
The beds themselves are firm and overall comfortable:
Small lights now allow Guests to read something after dark without disturbing others:
We have to say that we really enjoyed seeing these small (but useful) details:
The TV seems bigger than before:
This couch turns into another queen bed:
A small desk can be found close to the outdoor patio:
Here you are a few more photos of the room with the lights on:
Sad to say, the nautical theme is almost completely absent now. These rooms have very few themed elements that set it apart from rooms found in other hotels. That's a huge letdown for people (like us) who love themed accommodations.
The view from the patio was great:
Before concluding, check out this walk-through video showing the renovated room:

So, what do you think about these renovated rooms? Do you like the modern look or do you miss the small details that were present in the original rooms? Be sure to let us know by leaving a comment.
Feels extremely bland to me for the no doubt exorbitant rates they will be charging.
ReplyDeleteI always thought the theming was fairly subtle at both Yacht and Beach Clubs, so I personally like the new look. The old rooms were very dated (as is/was most of the Yacht Club in general, but that's improving), and I find the new rooms to be far more modern and elegant, like something you'd see in Bay Lake Tower. I think given that this is a Deluxe resort, those willing to pay the higher price will like the new refreshed look.
ReplyDeleteMissed opportunity.

ReplyDeleteI like everything except for the hardwood floors. While easier to keep clean, I would think there is more of a chance for the rooms to be louder with the hardwoods making it much easier to hear your neighbors.

ReplyDeleteI think they look very much like the new Pop rooms. Seems like Disney is going generic in the room theming. Would like to see more details so you can tell which resort you are actually staying in.
