"Party for the Planet" Coming To Disney's Animal Kingdom

On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will host special activities as well as merchandise and food offerings during the annual "Party for the Planet" Earth Day celebration. Due to the many different event scheduled to take place, there will be a special Times Guide for our Guests on April 22, which will be available at the entrance of the park (near the touch points), Guest Relations, and throughout Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Most activities and special offerings will take place at Rafiki's Planet Watch including:

• Rafiki & Jiminy Cricket character meet & greet opportunities (April 19-25)
• Displays and presentations by Cast Members who work on conservation projects around the world
• Caricature & face painters (through April 25)
• Research stations showcasing behind-the-scenes footage from the newest Disneynature film, “Monkey Kingdom,” allowing Guests to explore how technology is used to enhance conservation efforts (through May 20)

Other limited time merchandise will be available in Africa and Discovery Island, including:

• Vendors – Just Plumeria & Elemental Nursery (April 18-22)
• Artists – Bushman #1 (April 18-19) & William Silvers (April 20-22)

In addition to that, special Earth Day themed cupcake will be available April 22. This chocolate cupcake has a chocolate mousse filling with white buttercream dipped in Oreo crumbs. It is topped with a chocolate flowerpot and gummy worms.

Guests are encouraged to try this cupcake at the Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery or at Isle of Java.
