Islands of Adventure Update: Cat Not Spinning (PART 1)

Welcome to our newest photo-report, Orlando Theme Park News Readers!
Today we are going to take a look around Islands of Adventure to check out on the progress being done in the various areas that are currently under construction. As always, we will focus primarily on Jurassic Park and the train station, but we will also take a general look around the rest of the park. So, without further ado, let us embark on this virtual tour of the park:

First of all, the wooden poles just outside the park's entrance are being repainted:

They chose a lighter color, it seems. This could also be just primer, though:

Compare:

Time to get in:

As we previously reported, this section of the Port of Entry facade has been completely repainted:

The new details are great:

Seuss Landing is next:

Reports were true. The Cat in the Hat is officially NOT spinning anymore, transforming this fun-but-dizzying ride into a family-friendly, Fantasyland-style attraction, and it really works:

And it looks like this might be a somewhat permanent change. The warning signs still mention the spinning, but this particular part of the sign has been radically changed:

Previously, this sign would say "Warning! This ride spins." Well, not anymore:

All of the signs stating that have been replaced throughout the queue as well, and your vehicle simply faces forward during the entire ride. It never rotates around its central axis:

Moving on, we noticed that the sign of the Green Eggs and Ham looks good on one side:

But the other is just plain awful:

Walking around the rest of Seuss Landing:

The Lost Continent:

So many beautiful vistas:

This looked like a new addition, or maybe we never noticed it before:

New paint job for the Doc Sugrue's Desert Kebab House quick-service location:

  2. That's horrible. The spinning was one of the best parts of the ride. It made the Cat in the Hat what it was!

  3. But this report is wrong. I was just at IoA today and all the signs say 'This ride spins!' and lo and behold, it does still spin. It wasn't as intense as before, but we were spun around a few times.
