Hollywood Studios Update: Lookin' Around (PART 2)
Welcome to PART 2 of this Disney's Hollywood Studios photo-update (PART 1 can be found HERE).
Let's continue our tour of the park. It is time to take a look around the Star Tours 2 area:
The infamous Backlot Express Restaurant should "soon" become the Mos Eisley Cantina:
The Muppets area:
The terrible Pizza Planet Restaurant is still open! We have no idea why:
The line to meet Phineas and Ferb was very long (as usual):
They should really build a roller coaster themed after that franchise:
Who needs Cars Land when we have this beauty?:
The beautiful Streets of America:
This area was once rumored to be leaving soon, but plans seem to have changed (again):
That said, we really do like this area. It just needs more attractions:
One of the forgotten areas of the park:
Work on the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" Movie Set Adventure play area continues:
As you can see, they are refurbishing the tall "grass" (and, no. They area not going to mow this lawn):
They should re-theme the whole area after "A Bug's Life." It would take so little, but it would unify the Pixar Place theme (after removing the Backlot Express, though. It would stand in the middle of the land):

New York street "needs more attractions"? There isn't even one there now! And no, Christmas lights 2 months a year don't count.
ReplyDeleteI like planet pizza. It was such a great park when it opened, the backlot tour was amazing.
ReplyDeleteSince when were plans to leave SOA in place changed? And what has it changed to? I know about Cars Land 1/2 and Star Wars Land. So does that mean Cars Land 1/2 has been scaled back even more?
ReplyDeleteI personally love the Streets of America, and I hope that Disney keeps it in their future plans. I can't say the same for the Backlot Tour/Lights Motors Extreme Stunt Show area though. That's a perfect place for expansion.
ReplyDeleteJudging from these pictures (especially photo #6), I think Disney should turn the little plaza in front of Muppet*Vision 3D into a Muppet Studios. There's already a Muppet theme present there (photos #6-8). They could even retheme that awful Pizza Planet restaurant into the never-realized Muppet-themed one.
@Ncucerzan Rumor had it Streets of America would be demolished (which means no christmas lights) for Carsland. That rumor is pretty much dead, since Star Wars seems way more likely now! Either way I don't care what comes to the park, basically anything would be an improvement.
ReplyDeleteMy dream for the park would be
Get the old "Indiana Jones" roller coaster concept for MK and replace the stunt show. Add a monster inc attraction, doesn't matter roller coaster or dark ride.
And finally I would be fine with a Star Wars Land but it needs an E-Ticket besides a simulator
