Universal Studios Update: A December Day (PART 2)
Welcome to part 2 of this new Universal Studios update (PART 1 can be found HERE).
Let us continue to take a look at the massive Transformers building from the New York themed area:
More photos, from yet another angle:
Future building facade:
Workers:
A look from far away:
Nearby, we noticed that the front of the Revenge of the Mummy attraction is undergoing some changes:
According to some reports, the stand-by queue will now always go through the Paradise Theater:
In a few words, the stand-by queue will be almost completely indoors and will be longer:
There will also be a new ride marquee. Hopefully it will be better than the original:
This is the current (and temporary) ride's entrance:
Also, the Arcade was closed (sorry, we forgot to take pictures of that!), and the new extended walls of the Mummy's building seem to be done. And they look oh-so-hideous, just like the rest of the building:
And we are... moving on:
The third barge of Universal's Cinematic Spectacular is fully functional once again:
Work on the future train that will connect both Universal Orlando's theme parks continues backstage:
That's one big machine:
The refurbishment of the Amazing Pictures store next to Disaster's exit area continues:
I feel like we'll be stuck with another un-themed show building with Transformers.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope not, Simmi25! Unfortunately, it looks like we may end up having cutouts or something along this line on certain sides of the building...
ReplyDeleteA modern building in the backdrop of 20th. century America- it looks out of place.
ReplyDeleteI personally prefer the Singapore method of making the building NEST from the films inside and out. Regardless of wether or not it's a soundstage, I will still be refering to it as NEST. :)
ReplyDeleteIn a press interview with Universal Creative, they had mentioned since the building will be visible on all four sides, it will be themed. I'm expecting a brick facade similar to the buildings in the surrounding New York area.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that they will at least theme the building to match the rest of New York from the NY section. It looks really imposing and ruins the scale of the street, which in my opinion is beautiful. On the other side, I say build it to match the facade of Shrek and Despicable Me. Even though it looks like a soundstage, at least it will match and bring continuity. It is supposed to be a movie studio (kinda), isn't it?
